Pasta Ripiena BS1 – Review

Being a regular visitor and huge fan of Pasta Loco, I was very excited to hear that they were opening a sister restaurant ‘pasta Ripiena’ and even more excited that this restaurant would be focusing on stuffed pasta!

Its taken me a while to get around to it, since having my daughter a year ago I have found out how hard it is for parents to go out for food! It’s not just the time it takes or finding a sitter, it’s just how tired you feel when you finally do get some time to yourselves!

Luckily she has amazing grandparents who stepped in as sitters for this evening and I was feeling upbeat and ready for a date night!

We wanted to make the most of it so had the full 3 courses!

My starter was “Iberico pork bravette, calcots, chickpeas, & chimchuri”  (£8)

The pork was cooked beautifully and went nicely with the chickpeas the sauce was so tasty I wanted to lick the plate. A really lovely starter.

My husband had “burrantina, delica pumpkin, Sicilian oregano, walnuts & raw honey” (£7) he really enjoyed the flavours in this dish.

For my main I went for  “Cassoncelli of dry age salt marsh lamb” (£17.50)

A tasty piece of lamb that was crispy but soft inside, sat on a bed of pasta that was filled with even more delicious lamb! I enjoyed every mouthful of this dish!

My husband had “triangoli of ricotta and amalfi lemon” (£14)

he isn’t one that usually goes all out  vegetarian, so I was worried he would be disappointed, especially when my lamb came out looking like a real showstopper! But he actually really enjoyed it and said he would choose it again!

For dessert we chose the same “Tuscan chocolate and rum torte with pistachio & mascarpone” (£5.50)

This was everything you could would want from a dessert. Smooth, rich mouth melting chocolate that tasted just heavenly.

So happy that we came to eat at this lovely little place , they have certainly lived up to all the hype. The staff were so friendly and attentive, serving Beautiful tasting plates of food.
